Basketweave Dishcloth

Materials:
cotton yarn 1-2 oz (maximum)
G or H Crochet Hook

FRONT POST DC
1. YO, insert the hook horizontally from the front around the post of the next stitch (in the previous row)
2. YO and draw thru a loop - 3 loops left on the hook
3. (YO and thru 2 loops) twice -1 loop left on the hook
One Front Post dc made

BACK POST DC
1. YO, insert the hook horizontally from the back around the post of the next stitch (in the previous row)
2. YO and draw thru a loop - 3 loops left on the hook
3. (YO and thru 2 loops) twice - 1 loop left on the hook
One Back Post dc made

Directions:
Chain a multiple of 6, plus 4, plus 2 for the turning ch (example: 24 + 4 + 2 = 30 - this makes a small dishcloth)

Row 1: Dc in the 2nd ch from the hook, dc across ch (28 dc), ch 2 (beg hdc of next row)

Row 2 - 3: Dc in 2nd st of prev row, *1 FRONT POST dc in each of the next 3 st, 1 BACK POST in each of the next 3 st * across, 2 hdc in each of the last to st, ch 2 (beg hdc of next row), turn

Row 4 - 6: Dc in 2nd st of prev row, *1 BACK POST dc in each of the next 3 st, 1 FRONT POST dc in each of the next 3 st* across, 2 hdc in each of the last two st, ch 2 (beg hdc of next row), turn

Repeat Rows 2 - 6 for the desired length.

Edging: Sc around the dishcloth with 3 sc in each corner, sl st in beginning sc

Optional Edging: Sc around the dishcloth in a contrasting color. On the next round, (sc, ch 3, skip next sc, sc, ch 3) around, sl st in beginning sc
