pickle is unknown. It is believed that whoever finds it hidden in the tree on Christmas
Morn will have good fortune for the following year.
Materials: Green worsted weight yarn (pickle geen
colour), gold mettalic ribbon thread (the kind you use for embroidery), two crochet hooks
sizes 3.50 mm and 2.00 mm |

PICKLE:
With 3.50mm hook,ch 3, sl st in 1st st to form ring.
1st Rnd: Ch 1, 5 sc in ring, sl st into 1st sc , ch do not turn.
2nd Rnd: Sc in same st, 1 sc in each of the 5-sc in previous row;
sl st in 1st sc, ch 1
3rd Rnd: repeat 2nd rnd.
4th Rnd: Sc in same st a ch-1, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next, 2
sc in next sc, 1 sc in last 4-sc; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1.
5th Rnd: 1 hdc in same space as ch-1, 1 hdc each in next 2-sc, 1
sc in next 4-sc, 1 hdc in last 3-sc; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1
6th Rnd: Sc in same ch-1 space, 1 sc in each of the 9 sts in
previous rnd; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1
7th Rnd: 1 hdc in next sc of previous row, 1 sc in each of the
next 8 sts (9 stitches total); sl st in 1st sc, ch 1
8th Rnd: 1 hdc in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 6 sts, 1 hdc in last
st; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1 (9 sts)
9th Rnd: 1 hdc in same space as ch-1, 1 sc in next 3-sc, skip sc
in privious rnd (decrease) sc in last stitch; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1 (8-sts)
10th Rnd: 1 sc in ch-1 space, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next 2 sts, skip
1-sc, sc to end. End off.
HANGER:
(the prongs and cap of ornament)
With Gold ribbon floss and size 2.00mm hook attach with sl st in
any space between rnds 9 and 10.
Ch 3, sc in front lp of st in rnd 10, 1 sc in same lp, 1 sc in
next front lp, *2 dc in next front loop( as follows:
yarn over hook, insert hook in top of rnd 9, pull loop through,
yo, work as for dc), 2 sc in next front loop of rnd 10; repeat from * 3 times, end with 1
dc in same space as ch-3; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1.
2nd Rnd: sc in same space as ch-1, sc in next sc, skip dc and
continue to sc in each sc. 8 sc total; sl st in 1st sc, ch 1
3rd Rnd: sc in each sc around, (8sc) ending with sl st. Sl st in
every 2nd sc; ch 10, sl st in base of ch-10. End off knotting securely.
