Crowded Shells
Designed by Janet Rehfeldt

Website: Knitted Threads

The alternating shells and single crochets make this a fast and easy stitch pattern to do.  Adapted from the Harmony Solid Shell Stitch, this type of shell pattern is often used with afghans.   It’s a beautiful look that compliments any yarn.

Materials:   Worsted Weight yarn (yarn used Caron Simply Soft )
                     Size H crochet hook

Gauge:        3 dc = 1" using size H hook

Row 2:  Ch 3 [counts as first dc now and throughout], work 2 dcs in the first sc, * work sc between the 2nd and 3rd dc of the next shell, work 4 dcs in the next sc. *  Rep. from * to * ending with 1 sc worked between the last dc and the turning ch 3.  Turn.
